Andrea Gold- Owner

ANDREA Gold- Owner, animal trainer/coordinator

The Animal Department in North Austin, TX, was founded in 2014 by Andrea Gold.  After living and working in Los Angeles for over a decade, she recently relocated back to Austin, TX where she was raised. She has been in the animal business for over 15 years and holds a degree in Animal Behavior and Wildlife Management from Moorpark College's Exotic Animal Training and Management Program (2003). During that time, she focused her studies in Animal Ethics, Behavior, Training, and Wildlife Education. Andrea has primarily worked in the film business both nationally and internationally and has worked with everything from dogs and cats to elephants, primates, big cats, rhinos, and wolves. She also has specialized training in extreme canine behavioral rehabilitation, has developed and implemented several training programs for local shelters to aid in pre-adoption training, and has worked closely with military veterans and trauma victims to train dogs for service work. Our behavior modification programs have worked wonders in even the toughest animal cases.

Film + Production Team

All the trainers involved with the Animal Department's film division are professional studio animal trainers. We pride ourselves in bringing compassionately trained, safe and capable animals to every set. Whether your production needs dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, or any other wild animals, we can help you out! We can also provide animal stunt services and are able to work on both union and non-union shows. We have trainers that are SAG, SAG eligible, Teamsters, and International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) recognized. The Animal Dept. has connections with studio animal companies all over North America, so if we don't have it, we can coordinate getting any animal for your production.
